Hurricane Earl & Friends

Despite the ugliness of this current clip from, Dominica is actually pretty quiet right now. All is well. We had some rain last night and this morning. Some parts of Picard lost power from about 3 am this morning to 1 pm this afternoon. There is no generator where I live but Ross has generators on campus so I was able to go spend some time there.

While I was on campus, I got some video footage off what Ross calls the “lower seaside deck” aka the “yoga deck”. You can see that the Caribbean Sea is murky and rowdy, which is out of character for her. Can’t imagine what the Atlantic side looks like.

I am wondering if any new or returning students are getting stuck in the San Juan Puerto Rico airport because of Earl.  If so, don’t worry. You are bound to find other students in the same predicament. Stay safe and sound y’all!
