Mardi Gras Live

Carnival season is in full swing here in Dominica as well as in New Orleans. Only a few more days left to celebrate-today and tomorrow. Last night I discovered a way to stream New Orleans Mardi Gras parades live here in Dominica…and don’t worry it’s totally legal (wink). You can visit the website of nola.com and click on the parade cam. From there you can see cams from six different locations in the Big Easy. I watched Bacchus and Endymion on the Fat Harry’s webcam on the corner of St. Charles and Napoleon. Good times ! Technology is so amazing. It was great to hear the music and see the throws of Mardi Gras this year. You can real time follow on twitter too as people from all over the world chime in on the festivities. Last night even the soldiers in Afghanistan were watching live. I got to watch Andy Garcia and Anderson Cooper crusin’ through the streets of New Orleans while relaxing in my home in the Caribbean.

PS. Props to my mom who Fed Ex’ed king cakes to her children that are living all over the states.

Happy Mardi Gras 2011 !
