View off the campus Subway deck

This is a photo that I just took of the view off the Ross University  Subway deck. You wouldn’t think there is rough weather headed our way if you see how still the Caribbean Sea looks. Campus is quiet since today is a local holiday and because I think people are anticipating heavy rain. In preparation for inclement weather, we have food and water stocked up and we have finished our last minute preparations-topping up cells and electricity, charging electronics, filling buckets with water etc.

We don’t really know what to expect except for a lot of rain and possibly some high winds. We have had a few scattered light rain bands today. The wind is starting to pick up a bit. This low pressure system has an 80 % chance, according to the National Hurricane Center, of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours. So, now we wait.

I thought I would send out a few weather links that you can check out (while we still have power and internet, lol).

  1. It’s 10:30 pm now. It is completely quiet. Here in the northern part of the island we have not had that much rain fall or wind. Adios Emily.
