Ross Loss Competition

Struggling to manage your weight and fitness goals as a medical student ? All that time sitting studying and stress eating tipping the scale ? Well, now is the time to turn over a new leaf! The RUSM Wellness Club is introducing a new communal weight loss effort called Ross Loss.

Ross Loss exists to assist people who want help managing their weight and find they can’t do it alone. This group is open to students, spouses, and faculty. You could have 5 lbs to lose or 105 lbs. It doesn’t matter. Ross Loss provides weekly meetings with weigh ins. Guest speakers, success stories, and sample healthy snacks/meals are all part of the Ross Loss experience. Each participant sets their own short term/weekly goal and long term weight loss/fitness goals. Participants gain a network of individuals to help support them in their goals. Group/partner exercise commitments are optional for those who need that accountability.

The cost is 50 EC per person per semester which goes toward an overall cash pot prize. At the end of the semester, whoever has lost the highest percentage of their body fat wins the cash pot. I believe there are runners-up prizes for the person who loses the most weight and for the person who decreases their waist circumference the most.

I think this is a fantastic opportunity for the Ross community. Look for the flyers posted around campus to learn more about Ross Loss.

  1. Your first purchase of the month is discounted by not charging VAT (value added tax) for the first 100 EC.

Sorry to change the topic, but I was wondering if you had any insight on why Domlec Pay As you Go online charges different amounts in taxes on some days? I charge up on the 8th and received 98 kWhr for 100 EC, and now I charged up today and only received 87 kWhr for 100 EC? Is there some special days in which there is no extra taxes?
