Day 4: Favorite Trip

Day 4 blogger challenge : What has been your favorite trip ?  I have way too many favorite places here but definitely at the top of the list is Ti Tou Gorge, meaning “little throat”.  Ti Tou Gorge is located in the Roseau Valley area near the entrance to the Boiling Lake trail head. You enter a shallow, clear water area initially, then swim through the gorge and pass the “little throat” rock formation that literally mirrors the anatomy of the human throat. Beams of sunlight break through the forestry above and into the darkened gorge. There are some natural rocks to sit on alongside the gorge walls if you get tired of swimming in the current and need a break. From there you can swim further to a waterfall at the end of the gorge. The water is brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr cold but perfect during a Dominica summer. Best part about this whole adventure is that it is free ! As always, have your Ross ID ready in case the park ranger wants verification that you are not from a cruise ship. Depending upon what season you go in, there may be vendors renting floatable waist belts on site. Did I mention that scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean were filmed at Ti Tou? Just gorgeous.
